Vertical Electric Mooring Capstan

TUF designs and builds Vertical Mooring Capstan for vessels and docks.

TUF Electric Ship / boat Mooring Capstan is for mooring work on various ships including but not limited to offshore vessels working at hazardous areas.
It consists of a mooring head for wire ropes range from 16mm to 120mm driven by a electric motor. It has the same function as mooring winches. Mooring capstan is also usually used for boat anchoring. Unlike hydraulic powered capstans , electric capstan is getting its power from electricity generated by motor and is used wildly for mooring and anchoring ships.

TUF Electric Dock Mooring Capstan is designed for docks and can be used for both dry docks and wet docks. It adopts three-speed marine motor and electric control box to meet the requirements of protection performance, and has been widely used by worldwide top shipbuilding enterprises.

TUF also equip its electric mooring capstans with automatic braking device in case of power-lost conditions. The braking force of the brake which will function automatically when braking, is 1.5 times the mooring rope load.

For hazardous areas, Electrical and instrument equipment of the capstan can be designed in accordance with Zone 1, Gas Group IIB, and Temperature Class T3.

The rated pull is from 30KN to 200KN.
