Hydraulic Anchor Windlass

TUF Marine Hydraulic Anchor Windlass is an anchor handling system driven by hydraulic motor to wind and unwind the anchor chains. This system is driven by an electro-hydraulic power pack  unit (HPU) or diesel engine hydraulic power pack. It plays an important role of the hydraulic anchoring system. It is widely installed on a variety of ships. When a vessel is about to sail or berth, the anchor windlass will raise or lower anchors through anchor chain.

TUF Marine hydraulic anchor windlass is highly efficient and has long operating time compared with other windlasses.  The standard features include fabricated steel construction, hardened gears ensuring working load requirements, clutched and braked drum with corrosion resistance. It also includes one or two gypsies or wildcats and one or two warping heads. TUF marine can add mooring or towing rope drums upon request.

The hydraulic power unit (HPU) is used to generate oil pressure to drive the hydraulic motor. Inside the HPU, the electric motor or diesel engine driven oil pumps supply the hydraulic oil via the pipes to hydraulic motor in order to make sure the operation of anchor windlass.
HPU is not a compulsory equipment when ordering the anchor windlass. Windlasses can be modified to suit customer’s applications and special operating requirements. TUF Marine can provide the complete set of anchor windlass with HPU, or just the anchor windlass.

TUF Marine anchor windlass has rugged design and heavy duty split bronze bearings. The operating mechanism for brakes and clutches are designed for easy and safe manual operation but may also be remotely operated by hydraulic cylinders. The brakes are easily adjustable. The windlass design provides easy access to all points for lubrication and inspections.
